Fast Start, Slow Finish

As West Bend 7 Up ventured into the Wisconsin State League, they knew they were going to be in for eye openers at times, and on opening night eyes were open wide.  7 Up jumped on West Allis right away in the first when 7 Up got on the board with 3.  West Bend starter Brad Young wasn't able to use the momentum and West Allis tied the game right away with 3 of their own in their half of the 1st.  West Bend took the lead back in the 3rd when Zach Biermann hit his 3rd home run of the season.  West Allis answered right away and took the lead 5-4.  In the bottom of the 4th the wheels fell off for Young and the 7 Up defense.  West Allis scored 8 runs to put the game away.  Zach Biermann finished the game 4 for 5 with a HR, 2B, R, and 2 RBI, Adam Sarauer was also 3 for 5 with a 2B.  Jim Ziegler pitched well in relief on short rest.  Ziegler went 4 1/3 and only gave up on run on 4 hits.
