Cal Jacklin: Down With The Sickness

West Bend 7 Up's Cal Jacklin was not going to allow some little flu keep him from getting his first start on the mound for 7 Up in the West Bend City Championship game against the West Bend Benders.  For the past 16 months, Jacklin had been hounding management for an oppertunity to start on the mound, former manager Craig Larsen would not even entertain it, but new manager Adam Rohlinger showed why he is a better manager then Larsen ever was.  Jacklin went 7 innings of 1 hit ball, and cemented himself in the mass of arms that 7 Up has assembled.  Billy Anderson's lead off double in the 6th was the Bender's only hit of the game.  West Bend 7 Up started out quick, with 5 runs right away in the first.  Sam Matthies, Adam Rohlinger, all reached before Casey Krohn knocked them in.  Krohn was the offensive star of the night, going 3 for 5, in his first start behind the plate since college.  Krohn was the MVP of the game behind the dish, working with Jacklin and guiding him through the night.  Matthies, Matt Schubert, Joel Sharon, and Brandon Mantz all had multiple hit games for 7 Up.  West Bend 7 Up moved to 6-0 on the season (3-0 in Tri County) with a Sunday date for first place set with the Monches Irish in West Bend.  First pitch is 1 PM.
