7 UP won twice over the weekend to improve its leading division record to 7-3 and 9-4 overall. On a windy US Open Sunday in Menomonee Falls, anything could and was bound to happen. That narrative reigned true as Danny Mueller returned to the 7 UP lineup for the first time in over a year. Donning a new #3 jersey, Mueller looked slim, tan, and ready to ball before 1st pitch. With normal catcher Casey Krohn camped at the air conditioned Champions Club at Erin Hills all weekend, Matt Schubert stepped in to catch, leaving Mueller at short. Both provided great defensive efforts in tough spots, including Schubert snagging 3 foul tips and a pop up. It had been well documented through the media that 7 UP has struggled against Falls great Don August including an August 1 hitter against 7 UP a few years ago. But today was not that day, as 7 UP struck instantly for 5 runs in the first and 10 overall on the day. 7 UP has now scored 10 runs or more in 3 of its last 4 games and has won 4 straight. 7 UP got a spot start from Justin Celeski and he did not dissapoint. Celeski, a MSOE Red Raider, went 7 strong innings with 6 K's for the win even with an MLB type zone. He gave way to Taylor Koth who struggled to find the zone at first but settled in to close it out. 7 UP got a perfect 5-5 day from manager Adam Rohlinger including his first infield single in 9 years. Rohlinger is 10-21 in his last 5 games which includes a home run. 7 UP also got 3 hits from Danny Mueller on the day. Mueller. who proclaimed he would strike out 4 times before the game, roped 3 balls including a double to the gap. He also ran a non verbal play or slingshot with his old buddy Jed Justman to steal 3rd and show his new and improved speed. 7 UP also got 2 hits from Billy Bynum and Koth. Koth also scored a run to add to his league leading total. 7 UP got clutch hitting from the bottom of the order also as Justman, Alex Prickett, and Brett Cramer all had run scoring singles on the afternoon. 7 UP Cold One Player of the Day- Rohlinger- After a slow start, Rohlinger has heated up in June. His average has climbed to .396 and he is supporting a ridiculous .532 on base percentage. He also brought his glove as he made several tough catches with the sun beating down on him and also made a leaping grab in the 8th where it was estimated he climbed around 12 inches off the ground to end a Laker threat. For all those who were worried about his calve, it appears as though that injury resides in the past now. 7 UP Cold One Notable Bonehead Plays/Moments of the Day- Prickett's 14 batting practice foul balls; Prickett's sunglass batting look; Koth's directions to Justman in center; Bynum check swing popsickle to 3B; Cramer hat trick; Parrent's snapped bat; Menomonee Falls foul ball tracking or general strategy to returning foul balls; 7 UP tames Milwaukee Beavers 12-8 on Friday night- See Recap Here and Picture below- https://www.facebook.com/LandOLakesBaseball/posts/692245000960325 Image result for adam rohlinger Related image
